Braised sauerkraut with sausages

My mother-in-law brought back a mountain of fresh pork sausages from the weekend exhibition. Most of them went to the freezer, you probably won't believe it, but I have never made such fresh meat sausages. So I had to turn my head a lot, how to prepare them tastier here. I had sauerkraut in the fridge, so I decided to try stewing with it.

I don't want to brag, but the test was 100 percent successful, I didn't expect it to be so tasty! My only regret now is that I put most of it in the freezer

To prepare the dish you will need:

1 liter of sauerkraut

1 large carrot

2 small onions

3-4 cloves of garlic

1 small red pepper

100 gr. smoked ham

A handful of chopped dill

A handful of chopped onion leaves

A little oil

12 fresh pork sausages

Salt to taste

Additionally, you will need 4-5 boiled potatoes

First we prepare the vegetables:

Heat oil in a pan. We add onions cut into half rings, fry for a few minutes. We add diced sweet red pepper and smoked ham, carrot grated with a beet grater, chopped garlic cloves, sprinkle with salt, mix and fry for a few minutes. We add sauerkraut, chopped dill, onion leaves, mix and fry for a few minutes. We postpone.

We fry fresh sausages in a pan for a few minutes on both sides.

We add fried sauerkraut with vegetables to the baking dish. Place fried sausages on top. We put the container in the oven. When the oven is heated to 180 degrees, we stew for about 40-45 minutes.

Sauerkraut stewed with sausages is ready. If you like, serve with boiled potatoes. Delicious!
