Meat and pearl barley dumplings

Delicious and hearty, oven-baked dumplings with minced meat and pearl barley with mushrooms in a white sauce.

You will need to prepare 17 such, not very large, cookies:

  • 400 gr. ground pork ham
  • 5 cleaning spoons of boiled pearl barley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 head of onion
  • 1 small carrot
  • 3-4 champignons
  • Salt to taste
  • Favorite spices to taste

For the sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 400 ml. milk
  • Favorite spices to taste

In addition, you will need:

  • Butter for greasing the baking dish
  • For rolling semolina balls, sprinkling the baking dish

First, we prepare carrots and champignons:

  • Heat a little oil in a pan, add chopped onion, carrot grated with a beet grater, and chopped champignons.
  • Sprinkle with salt, mix and fry for a few minutes.
  • We put minced meat, fried carrots and mushrooms, pearl barley in a bowl, beat in an egg, add spices and mix.
  • From the prepared mass, we form small balls of the desired size, which we roll in semolina.
  • Grease the baking dish with butter and sprinkle with flour.
  • Put minced meat and pearl barley balls into the baking dish.
  • Melt the butter in a pan. Sift the flour and add the milk little by little while stirring. Add your favorite spices. Stirring constantly, we heat until it boils. We pour the sauce on the dumplings.
  • Bake in an oven heated to 180 degrees for about 35-40 minutes.

Dumplings of ground meat and pearl barley with mushrooms in white sauce are ready, delicious!
