Pies with chicken and mushrooms

These pies with chicken and mushrooms are very tasty and filling, perfect to put in children's lunch boxes.

To make 14 small heart-shaped cakes you will need:

350 gr. wheat flour

150 gr. butter (we used salted butter)

1 egg

1 teaspoon of baking powder

For the filling:

150 gr. chicken filet

2 carrots

5-6 champignons

1 small onion

Favorite spices, salt to taste

2 cloves of garlic

1 tablespoon of mayonnaise (can be replaced with yogurt or sour cream)

A drop of oil

1 egg for coating

First we prepare the dough:

Grate cold butter, add flour mixed with baking powder. We mash them together with butter. We beat the egg. We knead with our hands until the dough becomes smooth. After kneading the dough, let it stand.

We are preparing the filling:

Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onion, chopped chicken fillet, grated carrot, sprinkle with spices and bake for 10-15 minutes. Add sliced mushrooms and a spoonful of mayonnaise. Place the resulting filling on a plate and cool.

We heat the oven to a temperature of 180 degrees:

Roll out the dough thinly on a floured surface. Use a round cookie cutter or glass and press out 24 circles. We take one circle, add a teaspoon of filling, and press the second circle nicely with a fork. We got 14 round cakes.

Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush with egg batter. Bake at 180 degrees for about 18 minutes.

These cakes are eagerly eaten by our boys, so we often bake them and put them in lunch boxes. Delicious!
